Chrissy Holmes: wholistic healing & teaching
Healing is an ancient art which has been used throughout history. It has roots in India, China, Egypt and Greece. The Healing Trust (the working title for the Nationals Federation of Spiritual Healers) formed in 1954, is both a national & international organisation & it, together with others, has been instrumental in bringing back healing as an integral part of spiritual teaching once more.
The Healing Trust course covers both theory & lot of practice, both of chair & couch healing. It teaches the skills and develops qualities necessary for individuals to assist those who come for healing based on and in accordance with the members Code of Conduct set down by the Healing Trust.
It is important that course participants are in good health. If you are receiving treatment for anything please discuss this with your tutor before embarking on the course as healer development courses are not a substitute for personal healing or therapy.
As Regional Training Officer for the Healing Trust, my area covers Avon, Somerset and Gloucestershire (Region 4). I have recently been asked to add Devon & Cornwall as well (Region 3).
The Healing Trust training to become a healer starts with you attending the 4 parts of the Foundation Course. Venues, dates and costs vary nationwide but all courses are advertised on the Healing Trust website, www.thehealingtrust.org.uk
I run my courses with Parts 1 and 2 taken over a weekend each, with a gap of about six weeks between them. Part 3 follows, again about six weeks later over three days, usually a weekend with a Monday or Friday tacked onto it. Then Part 4 follows, another six weeks hence over another weekend again with a Monday or Friday attached. I very much encourage people to go at their own pace with the courses, only going onto the next part when they feel ready.
